Started in Antwerpen in 2006, the system is already being used by some 350 city citizens, companies and organisations. Following the cooperation with Q-Park, cambio and VINCI Park have now also decided to join forces. This cooperation results in a new location for 3 cars in the city centre, close to the Mechelseplein, Theaterplein and the historic centre. Parking organisation VINCI Park willingly provided the necessary parking lots. Sheltered from weather and wind extremes, they will in the medium term also be the ideal location to accomodate larger car classes from the cambio range.

Mr Patrick Lesseine, VINCI Park : ”It is a general trend that the mobility issue is undergoing quite dramatic changes. Our customers’ expectations have changed significantly and the share of public transport, car sharing, bicycle usage and other alternatives continues to grow. We have not forgotten other road users either, as is illustrated by our cooperation with public transport, our bicycle sheds etc. The cooperation with cambio therefore also perfectly fits in with the vision and strategy of VINCI Park. We will continue to make every effort to stay true to our slogan. We did not invent parking, but we aim to give it an extra dimenson. “

Mr Geert Gisquière, cambio Vlaanderen: ”For those who live in a city like Antwerpen and only occasionally use their cars, cambio offers an interesting alternative for the privatly-owned car (either as sole car or as ‘2nd car’). Cambio therefore continues to work on the expansion of its car fleet in Antwerpen. The aim is to have at least one location in all districts in the medium term. In this way, all Antwerp citizens will in future have access to a cambio location at walking or cycling distance from their homes.”

Cambio car sharing is a flexible formula that provides users (private persons, organisations and businesses) with round-the-clock access to a car at various locations in the city. Cambio customers can make free use of the car in exchange for a fee. The fee is based on usage (time and kilometres), and the user can forget about fixed costs, insurance, MOT and servicing.
